Part 1: $10 Million Cellframe Ecosystem Fund

We’re excited to say that Cellframe is opening a $10 Million Cellframe Ecosystem Fund with its treasury of CELL tokens. After our token launch propelled the community to the level where builders are asking us how to build Cellchains on the daily, we felt that the Cellframe team had to make an active effort to accelerate decentralization of the token, and therefore also the protocol, before it goes live later this year.

Rather than sitting on big piles of tokens, Cellframe wants to put its treasury to use where it matters and leverage the value of its token to create more value, rather than extracting it through the hopes of doing future treasury sales. However, we’ve seen previously that a lot of teams that open up accelerator funds find themselves with low-quality submissions for grants, or blackmail scenarios where people build tooling that may or may not be useful for an ecosystem but still demand payment.

Rather than shotgunning and hoping to attract a large number of developers just with dollar figures, the Cellframe team will be using the ecosystem fund to strategically acquire the work of other teams on Ethereum, Polkadot, Fantom, Solana, and Cosmos. In this process we will create a community governance proposal on our upcoming form where CELL holders can vote for the acquisition parameters and vesting terms.

In future documentation, we will be exploring crypto M&A funds, acquisition parameters, effective ways of assimilating token value, capital flows management and the token economics behind this accelerator fund, and much more.

About Cellframe

Cellframe is a quantum-resistant layer-1 network focused on facilitating secure and scalable cross-chain transfers. Cellframe aims to create an infrastructure for decentralized low-level services through its multichain nature. It is quantum-safe — it uses post-quantum encryption by default. Cellframe is built from scratch with plain C, which results in more efficient utilization of CPU and memory.
