Hello everyone!

I am Dmitry Gerasimov, the CEO of Demlabs and the head of the Cellframe project.

Today we’re going to try a new format of AMA sessions where I will answer questions that were sent to us in advance, as well as questions from the live chat.

Questions

Recently, you published news that at Blockchain Life 2024, Cellframe will unveil a new gadget. Could you provide more details about it?

Sorry, I can`t. We are preparing a big surprise. Before the presentation I can't share more than I already have.

Will the Cellframe team participate in the Moscow forum The Trends in May?

This year we are planning to participate in lots of forums, conferences and other events that help us to increase the exposure of our project, but for now we can say for sure only about “BlockChain Life”, others are in discussion.

Recently, a validator with a very high weight joined the Cellframe mainnet. Do you plan to limit the maximum number of mCELL for a single validator?

Yes, we are planning to limit it. However, first of all we need to finish our mechanics for stake delegation when people without mCELL could delegate the key with other stakes. So, holders with a lot of CELL would be able to delegate their stakes, split their stake to lots of smaller stakes and delegate them to different Master nodes. Unfortunately in the absence of these mechanics we need to stay with this limit. So, this limit won`t stay in place until we solve the problem with key delegation.

With the current reward distribution, launching a master node with a minimal amount of mCELL is not profitable. In the future, do you plan to modify the distribution scheme or increase rewards for validators?

I think the existing scheme is okay. The profit of a Master node depends on the total amount of Master nodes participating for the rewards. Also there is a reward source from service provided; however, this will become significant only when there are a lot of services in the network. The third way to increase the profit of the Master node is via the key delegation that I was talking about in the previous answer. So in brief - we are working on this to increase the profit of Master nodes.

You've already talked about your plans to release NFT on the Cellframe platform. Do you also have plans to launch play-to-earn games?

Some examples will show how we are thinking more about making an able community to easily build play-to-earn games and we are working on NFT but that's not our primary target. First of all we need to release the new version of the Cellframe SDK and Cellframe Node. Then focus on preparation for the new audition to complete the roadmap for two-way bridge. That's our main goal, everything else is secondary.

Do you have any plan in place for burning tokens in the future to reduce the supply and increase its investment attractiveness?

Yes we are planning to burn tokens when we`ll have lesser need for development and marketing. Right now we are in the active phase, and during the active stage of development we cannot afford to burn tokens, but when things get easier we'll start to burn tokens partially, for example our network fees, service fees, fees from bridge. Well, yes in future we are planning to burn some fees for investment attractiveness.

How is Cellframe's two-level sharding, which is currently underway, structured?

On the first level of sharding we have heterogeneous sharding where every shard has its own purpose like Polkadot for example. The second level (currently under development) will be homogeneous sharding where shards have the same purpose inside one heterogenous shard with the same ledger. So when we have it, we`ll have a scaling in two ways. It will dramatically increase TPS.

Tell us more about how Cellframe will implement multiparty computations and where it will be applied.

As an example of multiparty computation there will be a special service parachain that we are planning to run in the next month. It will be a parachain for AI-driven t-dApps. This computation will look like dedicated running of AI-driven applications for people who own some kind of powerful hardware. It's not only about Nvidia Tesla but also some consumer hardware like RTX 490 and something like these. They could share their locally running assistant with other people through TG-interface, for example.

Another way is to split and make multiparty computations for calculation itself like a CUDA calculation or the other GPU-driven calculation. It could be maybe for video recording and some tasks will be possible to run dedicatedly on our special parachain and earn some tokens on this.

Elaborate please on how the platform achieves sustainability and can run on low-level hardware?

We wrote our platform in the C language, it has high security requirements. Also it requires a really high level security audition. We have done this both with software and with humans as well. That has allowed us to exploit the power of your CPU, member and harddrive run on low-level, low cost hardware such things like blockchain nodes.

What mechanisms ensure the security and the scalability of the Cellframe network?

These are two separate questions. We provide scalability with two-level sharding (currently with one level, but the second level is also coming). The security issue is too complex a question to answer briefly.

The guide for launching a Cellframe masternode is designed for experienced users. Do you have plans to release a simpler version of this guide that would be suitable even for users with zero experience?

Yes, we are thinking about non-experienced users and we are preparing a special extension for Cellframe Dashboard that allows you to run a Master Node just in a few clicks. Also we have Docker. This option is not for inexperienced users, but simplify the Master node bringing up. Anyway we are thinking about it a lot and we are also thinking about the hardware node, because our partners Node.sys produce them. When they get production up and running, we'll have hardware nodes for sale.

You have been developing Cellframe since 2017. What inspired you to create your own blockchain platform?

I was inspired by the fact that at that time (2017) there were no quantum ready blockchain platforms, also ready for other blockchain challenges like transaction fees, abilities for running non-financial dAps, for sharding and for using different cryptographic algorithms and different consensuses. There were a lot of challenges that weren't grouped in one platform, so I had the idea to build my own one.

What happened with the Backbone Network in the previous week?

We fixed some technical issues that occurred following the last Master Node release.

When bridge, I hope we get some kind of a timeline.

We are trying our best to prepare the bridge as soon as possible. It should be somewhere between Q1 and Q2 and for that we need first to release the new release candidate branch. To fork this branch means to split the code base. We'll pass this code to the third party audit. It will happen in March, I believe, and then we'll wait for some time , collect some bug reports and open the bridge. It will not be a challenge to do this during one year. If we`ll see that something goes slower we can just run it with some limitations. But I believe we will run it this spring.

Why does the dashboard constantly have synchronization issues? Will this be solved in the future?

It's not a Dashboard issue per se - these issues are related to the Cellframe node and we are working the last six months to prepare a new version of the Cellframe Node with absolutely new synchronization algorithms designed specifically to solve this problem. We are planning to release it this February and, I believe, it will significantly improve the situation with synchronization. At least on our DevNet and TestNet it shows very positive results.

We have an active DEX but we have no liquidity there. Are there any plans to reward market makers?

Yes we are planning on the liquidity attraction, however we are also preparing our own market making tools. So, liquidity should appear soon, but it will be just our own. Other liquidity attractive and rewards for market making will also be available.

When will intensive marketing begin to increase the price of the token?

Previously we were going to run a heavy marketing campaign in spring, but we changed our plan and planned a bombing start at the end of this month. The next month will be really huge.

Do you realize how important is access on different platforms from where people can invest in CELL?

Yes and this is the first thing that we are working on.

Okay, that was all your questions. Thank you for your attention and for your support. See you next time! Good bye!
