AMA, June 2: new SDK features, Cellframe Dashboard, hardware node prototypes, new media platforms, child projects, etc

Category: AMA

Title image, read title

Hello everyone. I’m Dmitry Gerasimov, CEO of Cellframe, and this is our regular stream of project news with answers to your questions. So let’s begin. Today we’ll talk about the new feature of the Cellframe SDK. I’m talking about Cellframe Dashboard, our super-application with the wallet, and I will show you the prototype of one of the things that I’ll keep the time preparing for you. I also talk about preparing for the hackathons, entering the new media platforms, child projects, and much more. So let’s start with Cellframe SDK and refactoring and new features.

Cellframe SDK

We are busy debugging the Mileena and Backbone networks, which is necessary to improve performance and productivity and improve user experience.

We are focusing hard on stabilizing everything we presented to you months ago and are still polishing it.

We are debugging the fixed-point method for the streaming, stacking services, and the exchange, the node, the Global DB, and the new Global DB backend MDB (maybe you have read the article about the Global DB dedicated service). And ‌the staking backend.

We are refactoring the backend of the transaction explorer and the input-output reactors as part of the core part of SDK. I’m going to write an extensive article about it.

We have fixed a bunch of vulnerabilities detected by statistical analysis phasing and manual vulnerability scanning techniques.

We add the staking commission to generating transactions and read and write on asynchronous Global DB. This also I will describe in the following articles.

Also in addition, we have developed a new smart contract to receive test tokens which can be used to try out staking on the Ethereum Network and BSC. So it lets help with our staking program and other coming products.

And we didn’t forget about fixing bugs. Previously, the node crashed when some plugins were running on Linux. In certain conditions, now it doesn’t crash. We also fixed some related HTTP responses and problems with the static Python linking. We need to prepare python plugins for subframe nodes other than Linux OS. Right now, it’s working only on Linux. When we finish with a current development branch and release it, you will be able to run plugins on any platform, including mobile platforms.

Cellframe Dashboard

We want to announce exchange with limited orders. We made many changes and updates to Cellframe Dashboard. Let me tell you briefly about developing the 2.7 branch. We are developing a Stock tab. This is the centrality that exchanges with the limit orders for exchanging tokens for each other and buying and selling various services provided by TDF. It will be not only about a token exchange, but it also will be a service provider in stock.

There you will be able to see the current price. Keeping eyes on a price chart, there will also be an option to buy and sell services. It will be connected with clients’ services like a VPN, so if you purchase a VPN or process a repair order, you will be moved to the VPN client. All this is matched by a visually friendly and understandable user interface. Everything is ready is about 58%.

The next topic is also the part of the Cellframe Dashboard. It’s a web3 API. The server for the web3 program interface is launched now as a part of Cellframe Dashboard/ Basic functionality for processing web3 requests from sites is also developed. We implement the function of getting a list of wallet tokens information about wallet creating transactions, transaction history, and creating parameters for condition transactions. You know conditional transactions are our place for the smart contract functions and getting the list of transactions and a response output on a JSON format.

The next topic is a VPN client building Cellframe Dashboard, and as well as Cellframe node, all of the forms to use VPN are ready and are undergoing some refactoring. We also fill in data and develop the logic for working with another.

We have added a download indicator to the check update button, notifying the user that an update will be taken. The same indicator is added to the logs page. It displays when loading the data model with other logs. It’s all about logs of Cellframe nodes.

Also, I think it’s the most important in this topic. We have developed auto-complete 2.0 and ready signatures visual side. I’m talking about the Console tab. It’s our built-in terminal for the Cellframe node. So, when you enter commands, the pop-up window displays available options for adding a command. We redesigned the navigation scheme for the command selection up/down to select, enter to confirm.

Also, we have reworked some common components like Combobox, fixed some bugs in the interface, and added extended error messages.Sometimes orders were missing when the application was launched, and we have fixed this. There are no bugs in creating certificates, which allows the user to enter incorrect certificate expiration dates. We also fixed this.

Hardware Node — prototype

Maybe you remember that we announced the coming hardware node a few months ago. Then we stopped to work with it, and now we have continued and made a lot of progress. So, let’s start with the version based on Raspberry Pi. You can see this device.

Now it has a small display and low power consumption. We like it. It is eco-friendly. It includes a wallet with 1000 CELL and is ready to use. One thousand CELL are enough to run a masternode and make you a verifier in our network. So it’s a zero-configuration device, you order it, and when it arrives, you turn it on. It works. It is ready to be a masternode and become a network member. Soon we will make a website with instructions on how to build and run a node. All 3D models for printing the case will be published and instructions.

This is x86 architecture. This device was sent from our new partners from China, and they prepared this tiny motherboard. This is a small compact device all in one. It has a Celeron ‌G1800 2,58Ghz, it also has a slot for DDR3 up to 8 GB, built-in video, and more importantly for the built-in device — it has a slot for 4G modem sim card. It has passive cooling and can be run on Windows, so if you have no experience with Linux, you can install Windows on this device and use it for sharing some services.

We are exploring the demand for such products and appreciate your feedback. Feel free to let us know what you think. It is important for us.

Hackathons

We have scheduled a hackathon, which he calls Quant Reaper. It will show the capabilities of our platform to as many developers and the community as possible. Also, to allow participants to share the results of their work with the community, feel free to join when we announce it.

MVP TDFS will be created on our SDK, the best of which will be selected and awarded by the jury. The Categories of criteria will be announced in advance by the organizers. We are preparing white for you to participate in hackathons, and we will publish all the details on our channel. Stay tuned.

Publications for beginners. Easy to understand

We are getting ready to launch Telegram and Discord channels for people who are new to blockchain and cryptocurrency or not at all. We have long wanted to tell intelligibly and in an exciting way what is hidden behind this seemingly complex topic. Simply about the complicated. We like it very much, and now we can no longer strain our educational ambitions. There will be two channels in Russian and English. After all, we pay equal attention to our Russian-speaking and English-speaking audiences. The working title, for now, is “0+”. We will not only cover the sense of many terms and processes but also share instructions and many manuals of our design as well as video tutorials or short briefs, something like that. Of course, we will teach how to work on our platform. We will detail CELL, various node rewards, and so on. The goal is to make it clear to the cat and the grandmother.

Speaking of instructions. Right now, you can find instructions like: how to buy CELL on Gate.io, how to buy CELL on Uniswap, how to create a wallet in Dashboard, and how to get LP token for CELL on a swap with Ether. By the way, it is important.

I want to repeat: if you want to participate in our coming staking program and plan to stake a CELL in pair with Ethereum or BNB or stablecoins. You’d better place your bet right now because you’ll have more bonuses and more of what you’ll get if you start before the official launch.

In preparation “how-to”, it’s about manuals on how to create LP tokens from CELL/BNB, and this is just the beginning. All instructions will be available in Russian and English as well.

If you are waiting for some specific instructions, let us know. Feel free to write to us. We appreciate any response.

Subsidiary Projects

Sometimes you ask why the KelVPN team is so silent on social media. It’s simple. Guys are developing the application, so now we are helping them with social activity. The goals of this project are safety and anonymity on the internet. However, there are not only the goals. One of the features is a super-fast, responsible application, so it has been ready to get a new engine, and they are promising to release it next week or so. The mainnet will be released right after the Cellframe mainnet becomes stable and open for everyone. KelVPN Explorer is also almost finished and will be announced as soon as well.

Meetup in Europe

‌And some news from our community from Europe. Our dear author and ambassador, Mika, whom you all know and read on Medium (if not, start right after the AMA session), invites everyone willing and able to attend a fun meeting in a country in the European Union. He has a discussion on Twitter about which countries would like to meet. You can follow the organization of the meeting on our account. We also repost Mika and the main events in detail of this event. In July, there will be the match you were waiting for, and it will probably be fun. I believe it will be fun for sure. We don’t know all the details, but we’ll see, stay tuned.

Social media

We entered another new platform for us as a Habr.com. If someone doesn’t know, it’s a fantastic community of passionate developers and a prestigious platform for publishing. Blogs of IT companies are not only about development but also about life in the company, hobbies, and experience in general in Russian and English. By the way, I’m personally going to write a few articles about what’s going on inside the Cellframe SDK and maybe some vision for this project. But first, we want to prepare some different articles. The platform has particular requirements for materials, and now we have the first theme in development. It was complicated to choose where to start because everything seemed important. But we got through it. We work with authors regularly and prepare the content to delight you and ourselves with new publications. Speaking of social media, we have an official Instagram account. Join us.

Questions

Ok, it was all about our news, let’s go to the questions from you.

Will (single sided) staking be a fixed APY? And if so, how much?

Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with a fixed APY because we have limited time emission. Because the staking program is based on emission. So as more participants join our staking program, the lower APY becomes. So it’s flexible, unfortunately. We need to finish EVM and WASM integration for fixed APY to let you write some smart contracts and provide financial protocols. So it is also on the roadmap but not at the nearest time.

Is there any plan for ecological construction after the mainnet goes online?

(Shows the node on Raspberry Pi) I think it looks like ecological construction or something like that. Our conception is the ecological base. I think that unrelated blockchain projects cannot be called ecological, but it’s about protecting nature. I’m a naturalist, so I am interested in ecology.

You have to make the fools buy it, not the smart guys (they are the minority). Also adoption helps. All this is momentarily not the case with the Cellframe. What are the plans to change this?

We don’t divide our community into fools and smart guys. If you all have joined and are interested in Cellframe, you are smart by definition. I think you ask about how to lower the entrance barrier. And yes, our project 0+ it’s about it. We think about how to explain everything that we develop with simple words, so yes, we have such plans, but it’s not about fools. It’s just about reducing the entrance barrier.

Why would dev’s build a multimillion dollar dApp on a platform that has proven nothing and in their view may not even be around in 18 months? How to overcome this?

We are not talking about dApps. We have various ideologies of our distributed applications, you know. We have truly distributed applications, so we are not trying to replace other dApp platforms with another. We want to extend a modern blockchain community with our t-dApps platform that provides unique abilities that nobody else can provide. Nobody else can provide a dApp API to build your own Youtube or Facebook or something like that. Any fog service that could replace a cloud service. It’s not about monies. By the way, we also have plans to prepare a platform for usual dApps, but our t-dApps are not a replacement for them. It is for different purposes, you know.

When will it be possible to automatically earn test tokens, without asking a team?

Yes, we are working on it. We have written special smart contracts for spreading test tokens. We are waiting while our web developers have some window in their schedule, and then they will prepare the nearest time for the site for test tokens and let you test our test staking and our other test sites.

Why do we need mCELL tokens? Earlier you said that only CELL are needed to run a node. Can you explain?

Yes. It’s not a replacement; it’s an extension. You can use only CELL tokens to run a node. But if you paired your CELL tokens with Ether or BNB and became a liquidity provider and staked LP tokens, maybe you still want to bring up your node, so the mCELL token is the special derivative token from your LP pair that allows you not to choose between LP providing and became a masternode. So you can become an LP provider, obtain and sell a token and use it to bring up the node, or delegate it to somebody else and have a fee from his service provider. Something like that. So I want to repeat: it’s not a replacement. It’s an extension. You can still stake only CELL tokens and become a masternode. No problem. And all rewards will still be with CELL. And CELL is not a tradable token, just to run a node for LP providers, nothing more.

Questions from live chat

OK, it was all pre-definite questions, let’s go to Youtube chat and see what you are asking about in live chat.

When will node and single side staking be complete for full mainnet launch? The delays have caused a lot of negative price action.

Unfortunately yes. Use this possibility to fill bags at a good price. As I told before, we are starting the second stage of audition for vulnerabilities, and when it is over, we’ll open the mainnet for nodes for single side staking. First, we need to finish our current Cellframe node in a development branch. When we finish it, single staking will be ready. So the way, single token staking will be available only inside the active network.

What are the projects under development in the CellFrame ecosystem?

A dedicated exchange, dedicated storage, maybe streaming, maybe something more. And games. We have some blockchain-based games that we want to issue this autumn.

OK, these were all the questions I saw in the chat. Thanks to everyone who asked. Those were amazing questions, Thanks for everyone again.

We are the CELL! We are here! Goodbye!
